Come and explore the Eden Valley & Lake District
Sleeping up to five people, Number 3 Rivermead is an ideal base from which to explore the Eden Valley & Lake District. Set a mere four miles from the national park boundary, the village of Newton Reigny provides easy access to the most incredible landscapes in the country (although we are a little biased!) We’re only two miles from J41 of the M6 so perfectly-situated for stopovers en route to bonnie Scotland too.
About the Rooms
There are three bedrooms in the house, one of which is en-suite with shower. The remaining two rooms share a bathroom. Downstairs you’ll find a spacious living room, as well as a kitchen/dining room. To the back of the house is a small garden with outdoor seating for five people, if you fancy dining al fresco.

Verified We enjoyed a 2 night stay. Jane and Mike were excellent hosts. The cottage was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the shower and bath were great! We had a great meal at the pub next door and would definitely stay here again!Posted on Nina09/11/2025Verified Lovely couple of nights away- the cottage was homely, clean and our hosts Jane and Mike provided us with all help and info throughout our stay- thank you!Posted on Ellie04/11/2025Verified perfect place to say. house is well equipped and very cosy. everything is thought of when you stay here would recommend.Posted on Jake30/10/2025Verified The house is in a great location to explore the Lakes. Jane was incredibly helpful - the little touches were very much appreciated! The pub next door is great to enjoy a meal after a long day exploring. We will be back!Posted on Sarah26/09/2025Verified We had a two night stay at the cottage to attend a wedding in Penrith. The photos on site don't do the cottage justice - there's plenty of space and easy to use facilities. We had an excellent meal at the pub next door too. our only regret is that we weren't staying for the full week to make the most of the good weather forecast.Posted on Philip21/09/2025Verified Newton Reigny is a cute, little, quiet town with a great pub. The cottage has everything you need. There is a grocery in Penrith less than three miles away. Keswick, Carlisle, and Hadrian's Wall were easy to get to in a single day. Jane and Mike are great hosts. I highly recommend this place!Posted on Denise17/09/2025Verified What a wonderful place, nicely furnished, great location and Jane was a perfect host. And the awesome Pub directly next door serve up amazing food and hospitality. If you are planning to stay in the area, book with Jane, you will not be disappointed.Posted on Gary12/09/2025Verified Highly recommended. Jane is a fantastic host and very friendly. She is accommodating and helpful to any request. The house was ideal for what we needed. Clean and tidy in a great location. We ate at The Sun Inn next door and the food was delicious with a great atmosphere. Very friendly staff with a little shop with essential amenities. We intend to visit again as its a great base for anything in the Lakes. Keswick is half an hour away. The wedding we attended was at Inn on the Lake Ullswater, which was also half an hour. Can't say enough good things about this listing.Posted on David07/09/2025Verified Jane was a great host, attentive and friendly, lives right next door so is available when you need her, pub next door is also great, food was very good.Posted on Michael17/08/2025Verified A very pleasant stay. If you're considering whether the pub will be an annoyance, don't bother. It is a friendly, calm pub and not rowdy at all. If anything, the place was bigger than we believed it would be. The host was very happy for us to have guests around but obviously we communicated this in advance to check. She was very understanding. We will be booking this again as the price is great if you don't mind a drive to get to parts of The Lakes.Posted on Darren02/08/2025
